Rear Parking Sensor replacement issue LR4
Hi all,
I replaced 2 corroded but working rear parking sensors with new, genuine LR038533's. The old ones worked correctly but looked tatty.
Now the sensors do not work at all, front or rear. Having taken for a short drive, this doesn't change. by removing just the nearside rear light I can unplug the rear sensors. The P/A button on the dash now flashes 4 times and says visit service centre
Before I remove the bumper cover again and swap back, is there a reset setting that I must do with the GAP iid tool to refresh the ECU?
If you fully removed the rear bumper and disconnected the electrics, make sure you fully pushed the connectors back together again. I had the same symptoms as you and it was the simple fix as above. Embarrassingly simple, but cheap to fix
Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the advice, I have checked again and its definitely connected.
Interestingly, when connected, no beeps, lights or anything. No fault codes on Iid tool.
When disconnected, 4 beeps and the P sensor button flashes 4 times and list service centre. 4 faults on the Iid tool.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks in advance
Dave

Is it possible that the car has somehow entered the "no sensors fitted" status and that the CCF setting needs reversing sensors switched back on? The IID tool should give you options for reversing sensors in the CCF section, so I wonder if it is worth reconfiguring there?Previously:

Hi,
I did look at that and it’s set for all. What I didn’t do was change to a different setting then change back, I will try this today. Thanks for the suggestion.

SOLVED!
So I finally got round to taking off the bumper again and then refitted the original sensors and BOOM, everything worked as normal. I then refitted the replacements and, with the bumper balanced on the tailgate, managed to confirm that they were both duff!
Spoke with my local Indy who supplied them and they confirmed they were BRITPART sensors, and offered to order OEM ones in for me ASAP. The Britpart ones looked like this....

The new 'OEM' ones turned up today so bumper back off......
And it all works perfectly! Thank you to West 4 x 4 for getting it sorted.

So it seems that the 2 faulty Britpart sensors just stopped the sensors front and rear working but didn't throw a fault code or knock out the rear view camera! Just in case someone else experiences the same issue. I suppose the moral to the story is unless it is really really broken.........leave well alone
