Diamond Cut refurb's corroding..
Had the wheels on our HSE LUX refurbed when we purchased it 15 months ago. They had bad curb damage on each wheel, so we paid to have them refurb'd before taking delivery. To be fair we were advised to consider going all Black on them, but missus preferred the original Diamond cut style..
They are now corroding already under the lacquer, with no sign of breaks in the coating.
Just checking if this is normal for the LR wheels of this model or not, before I try and get them redone, though most refurb places only warrant them for 6 months, which I guess says it all..

Wheel refurbs are never as good as they were originally. A lot of wheel painters will use a wet paint colour and a powder lacquer, and I'm not convinced powder coating is as good as the original wet spray lacquer.Richard

Hi,
our old RRS 494 had DC and dealer refurbed them when we bought it at 3 years old
before 12 months was up they had the car back and did them all again at a different place
sadly for them they forgot about the full size spare wheel and the 2nd refurb was a slight different colour to the last,
so they had to pick up the spare and then get that done
when we sold it about a year later there were signs again starting to show

I bought a set of diamond cut and had them painted black for exactly that reason, they all seem to corrode under the lacquer after around 12 months or so. At least with them being black you can easily retouch them if needs be...

Mine look terrible but they were refurbished 4 years ago.
I'm going to speak to my local place and see if they can replicate the look using black and a high sparkle silver for the spokes rather than diamond cutting them.2014 D4 XS

Just had my HSE Lux rims powder coated in satin black. IMO diamond cut rims are a nightmare and always corrode. As the car is black its full stealth mode now!

Mine were done by the dealer to sort out some light kerbing. 2+ years later and there's a little bit of white 'worm marks' starting to show. My research shows it just happens on diamond cut. I have also been told they milled off so much to get the kerbing out I can't have it done again. In a couple more years I will simply spray mine the right shade of grey/silver and then just keep them tidy that way, touching up as required.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten
