Stick or twist? D3 or D4?
Hello all,
We have had a D3 2.7 TDV6 for four years. Love it. As a family car it's perfect for us, with the dogs and horses and all that clobber included. It's getting really tired now though at 190k and needing a lot of work. Also just this week the HDC fault has reared it's ugly head.
Do we stick with the D3 and spend a couple of grand on sorting it out or do we buy the D4(75k 3.0 TDV6) that the local car dealer has?
All general thoughts welcome and thank you in advance

D4. My D3s were money pits, D4 was faultless. But you run the crank risk. But my last D3 died of spun bearings. Pays yer money etc.

I’ve recently made the swap from a D3 (after 6 years) to a D4 XXV. It’s a huge step up, much better to drive and build quality a lot better too. You won’t regret it but do the usual and make sure it’s been comprehensively servicedDiscovery 4 XXV

Hi everyone, an update.....
Firstly, thank you to those who took the time to reply. We have decided to say goodbye to the D3 and are now the proud owners of a D4.
