The message "Cameras unavailable. Consult main dealer" has been showing on my wife's D4 for a while now (weirdly, more when she is driving than when I'm driving) but has now gone from intermittent to permanent. I think we've gone through the simple steps so far, i.e., checked the lamps in the reversing lights, read fault codes looking for faults with rear distance sensors, etc., A number-plate lamp is out but I can't believe it could be that.
I'm not sure if the access panel for the camera is going to come off cleanly, but:
a) Is there any way to test the raw feed of the camera, either through the car or some sort of test equipment?
b) Are there any other LR 'gotchas' that might be causing this (left-handed driver on an odd-numbered day of the month, etc.,)
It's only when the cameras aren't there you remember how big the vehicle is!

My d4 only has the one rear camera but when I had the same displayed on screen I found the issue would disappear if I flexed the cables to the rear parking sensors. Must stop buying shiny toys....
