which tire for disco3?
Hi,
I currently have tyres on my 2006 disco 3 2.7v6 255/60r18 pirelli scorpion winter just under 3mm tread left, ride quality aint too good now, any suggestions which tyres are best for disco 3?
will be towing boat on trailer and little off roading.
Thanks

That’s a single question you’ll get a hundred answers for
Traditionally a lot go for the general grabbers AT range, seem to be the most popular. I recently fitted Avon AX7s, same general pattern and ATs but they have better noise and economy ratings than the GG

With the brilliant terrain response system you really don’t need a very aggressive tread pattern unless you’re going to regularly encounter seriously muddy terrain.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Yep, I think I will try Toyo open country AT seems to have good
Reviews and price ain’t bad, had some vibrations when driving above
60mph did feel like stuck brake caliper, checked them today and as I press one piston
The other one moves but when I press both at the same time they want move not even 1mm
So got the brakes job as well. Never had it before,

Everyone has its personal choice, but IMHO it depends only on YOUR use. Only good roads, bad roads, muddy roadsides / ditches, some off road, even snow or black ice,... Depending where you're living.
By example, for my D4, I choose BFG AT for usual Irish roads, muddy paths and beaches, sometimes black ice (3PMSF), with the same tyres all year long. Avon AX7 seems to be also a very good choice I will consider next time .
