Nearly as bad as my daughter, after going through all simple maintenance procedures with she came to me next day and said " how much oil do I have to put in the engine?- I put a 5 litre can in and its still not full!" Banging Head

It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

While serving my apprenticeship as a mechanic, nearly forty years ago I worked in a workshop that had a petrol forecourt and shop attached.I was asked by the cashier if a young lady could borrow a funnel to top up her oil as she was spilling it. No problem I said and gave her one but she said it was too big, behave you lot.I said it should be fine but she insisted it won’t fit so I asked her to show me the problem and when I got out there was oil all over the forecourt!!! She was trying to pour it down the dipstick hole Rolling with laughter I did notice another female purchase a second five litre of oil for her car and saw her pour it in and went to check she was pouring it in through the rocker cover but had no idea about a dipstick and thought it would be full once she could see it inside the rocker cover Whistle we pushed the car round and drained seven litres of excess out.

Then there was the time we had a fuel delivery and they delivered 40,000 Ltrs of seawater into our tanks.

Some great memories of that place.
Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Her car "omitted" blue vapour?

I had a boss who asked to borrow the manual for my Peugeot 205 because he had problems topping-up the oil. He was using the dipstick tube. He was also a bloke who mentioned being a chartered engineer almost every day.

Lots of roles are covered by the term "Chartered Engineer". Could be acoustics, could be water, could be lighting. It's quite a list these days.

But I guess it's a bit like the assumption that someone with a PhD is "really clever" rather than just "really focussed on one tiny aspect of a whole subject". Rolling with laughter
