suspension fault
suspension is not level and the compressor seems as if its not working. i have plugged a gap tool in and it gave the code c1a27-14(af) compressor circuit-general electrical failure- circuit short to ground or open. any ideas where to start looking.2005 discovery 3 tdv6

Although not unheard of it's unlikely there's a wiring fault on the compressor itself.
Given your car's year and age it's more likely to be corroded wired behind the passenger
side front wheel arch liner.
Remove the wheel, mud flap, and the three screws at the front of the liner. (one is underneath)
Then pop out the centre's of the plastic retainer plugs, then the remainder of the plugs and pull away the complete liner.
You will see the three connectors on the lower right side of the wheel arch. The blue connector
is the compressor circuits. You are looking for corrosion "greening" of the exposed copper wires,
or broken / damaged wires. Check thoroughly, and if necessary very carefully trim back the outer loom sheathing as often the problem can be inside or very close to it. Inspect the other two plugs as well while you are in there.
If you find the culprit you can solder in splice, or if it's very close to the connector plug a bridge wire will often suffice.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

just had a look at the fuse it looks as if its blown. i have ordered some fuses that should be here tomorrow i will change the fuse and see what happens. if the fuse does not cure it its wheel arch liner out time.2005 discovery 3 tdv6

Hmm.. well if the fuse has blown you have to ask why? It could be the motor on the compressor was over stressed either by a leak or simply it's age. Either way it's unlikely to be an issue with the wheel arch wiring, so you can leave that until you have it running and el.iminated any other possibility
If you have a GAP IID or similar go into live values for the suspension and select Motor Temp, Motor voltage, and Gallery pressure. As the system fills you can get an idea of what's going on especially if you deflate the system completely before the test. This will stress the compressor, but well with in it's intended specs and should give you an idea of it's state of health. From empty it should fill the system completely within 5 min. (full = approx 1760 kPa) And, the compressor temp should be in the range of about 65°c to 80°c with the motor temp much lower at a max of around 35°c to 40°c (or much less). If it's moderately above these values it could just need a service, if much higher you either have a leak or the compressor is beginning to fail.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Changed the fuse and now it's working. Plugged the gap tool in these are the readings after it had been running to inflate the suspension on uneven ground.2005 discovery 3 tdv6

Glad it’s fixed.
Why wait, just go for it and enjoy life.

How long did it take to fill the reservoir? Temps are very high indicating either a worn compressor or one needing a service at least.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

a few minutes to fill and bring everything up to normal height . the compressor was changed about 2 years ago it also had the valve that sits in front of the compressor changed.has been ok since. the compressor and valve were the cheap ebay ones.2005 discovery 3 tdv6

The motor is a bit higher than I'd expect to see, but then this depends on how long it has had to run! Compressor temp is OK indicating it has had a relatively short run, which might leave a question regarding the motor.
Monitor it periodically and see how things go. It's worth bearing in mind the cheap aftermarket compressors are poor quality and do not last. You might have to start putting away the pennies for a new genuine one.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
