Significant problems when towing

Various engine system errors when towing the caravan for the 1st time including limp mode and significant black smoke.
Stop, turn off, wait a few minutes, restart and system check passes and we can carry on with no problems for a while.

Checking PCM with Autel diagnostics gives the following

1.1 P0234-00 Turbo/supercharger overboost condition. Intermittent
1.2 P132B-00 Turbo/supercharger boost control A performance. Intermittent
1.3 P006A-00 Manifold absolute pressure - mass or volume air flow
correlation. Intermittent.

Also sometimes get a transmission error and this is what is recorded

2.1 P0928-00 Gearshift lock solenoid - circuit/open. Historic
2.2 U0155-87 Lost communication with instrument cluster control
module. Permanent

Looking at that last error from the other end.

4. IPC - Instrument cluster control module---(5)
4.1 U0132-87 Lost communication with ride level control module. Intermittent
4.2 U0159-87 Lost communication with parking assist control module. Intermittent
4.3 U0122-87 Lost communication with vehicle dynamics control
module. Historic
4.4 B1A00-46 Control module Historic
4.5 B1A87-68 Battery disconnection/electronic control unit reset. Historic

I would check there are no leaks on the air hoses.
Ensure intercooler has no leaks.
Check turbo linkage is free

MAP sensor cleaned, a bit crusty but I have found worse pictures on here. The hole in the sensor was patent but restricted.

Will clean the actuator and am tempted to EGR delete while at it.

Actuator rod appeared to be moving ok but with a metallic squeak. A bit of WD40 and some exercise and smooth as silk Smile

EGR Delete, cleared fault codes then a quick blast. Rechecked and no codes shown Very Happy , next test will be a run up to Grimsby tomorrow but the real test will be the next trip with the tintent.

Then set to work on more error codes.
