Powdercoat Wheels: Black vs Silver vs Anthracite vs Bonatti

Happy Bank Holiday all.

I'm thinking of having my wheels refurbished and powdercoated, cost is about £300 for all five. Only problem is deciding what colour to go for. Standard options are silver, black and anthracite. Or for an extra £20 each wheel I can colour-match the body colour.

I'm tempted to go with anthracite, because silver is no different from existing, and I find that black makes the tyres look grey and naff. The real question is therefore whether I do anthracite or Bonatti Grey?

Just had a set of 17" done in a dark grey - if you want I'll post a picture when I get 5

The colour isn't anthracite as such - the "official " name was Audi grey ... I see no ships........

Personally I wouldn’t colour match the wheels, as I like a contrast, but it’s a personal choice and all matters is that you like it.

Cheers LT, the matching Bonatti is a risk because whilst I like the idea I'm worried it'll look odd. I'm still erring to Anthracite.

Search for photos of Defenders and Classic FFRR’s. Some of them had “colour coded” wheels and I’ve always thought it wasn’t a great look. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Just had my wheels done in black on a very similar colour car and I think it looks great.

You'll find the anthracite is too close to the car's colour but they do look good on other colour cars...

I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Likewise torn colour wise for my bonatti Grey disco 4…. If black is it matt or full gloss ?

I like colour matched, these were done when I got the car. I certainly wouldn’t go black but the anthracite on the runout Graphites were nice as well
