Replacing satnav with Apple CarPlay screen question
Just bought a 7in wireless Apple Car Play screen. Idea is to trim and replace in the aperature left by removing satnav. One question with the original satnav screen wires disconnected will it cause any fault codes, bongs etc. thanks.

Cheers, it’s actually better than expected and only £140 on Amazon. Currently I have mounted it on the little shelf in front of the satnav. Also routed the power cable just got to re route the aux cable. Although you can clearly see them coming out of the side. I did try using the inbuilt fm transmitter but the aux is better. So now it all works my plan is to remove the satnav screen and then trim, if needed, and place this 7in screen in its place. Plus the power and aux will be hidden. That’s Sundays project👍

I did the same but with an 11inch screen. Kept the original screen so no wiring or cutting needed, just the cigarette lighter. I got two by mistake so if anyone wants one quick I can provide. Mine is a Carpuride w103.

Also just done mine this weekend (I'd previously fitted RRS Dash) I'm happy with the result, just got to fit the rear view camera..

So thought how could I remove original sat Nav screen and try and place the new screen in. Well it didn’t work so plan A means I will leave as is. Still very happy but I wish the connections for power, aux etc weren’t on the side. Makes hiding the wires impossible. Why can’t they be on the back….

I also wanted to remove my screen, but the two ideas I had (removing the fuse, and unplugging the screen) both killed any sound from the radio.
So next idea is to cover the screen in a suitable material to match the dash

you need to unplug the orange fibre optics and then add a linking connector like this, so the audio continues to work
