Could this possibly be wheel bearing ? |
|
When driving round a right bend I occasionally get the yellow triangle warning flashing on the dash, last night I also got the gearbox "F" came up (went off after re starting)
Could this be wheel bearing ? Or any other suggestions please.
Thanks

I never had any warnings displayed in my 2006 D3 when I had a failing and then failed wheel bearing.
Stability warnings can occur for several reasons. Tyre pressure, suspension issues can trigger them.
I’m sure others will be along with some more comprehensive explanations. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Surely the last!) PD1881 rims-GONE

Tyre pressure or unmatched tyres! It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Mine did it quite regularly …..
Since i changed the upper and lower arms few months back… it happened never again… while it is still on the same wheel bearing.. (on all 4 wheels)
So the bushes are (or can be) another reason to light up the warning light.. Best regards
Harold

Could also be a failing wheel speed sensor, a failing CV joint.

Thanks, I'll check those out..
Have matching tyres all round with correct pressures (BFG A/T's)
Just put 2 rear lower arms on (did uppers last year) and front shock bush, and had 4 wheel alignment carried out.

I had similar (also with BFG ATs on 18" rims) and in that case it turned out to be a faulty height sensor Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE
Previously:
TD5 Defender 110 CSW (230k miles)
300TDi Disco 1 (289k)

110 V8 CSW (220k)
S3 109 hi cap pickup (ex RN)
S2A 88 Safari SW with lpg conversion (bloody lethal)

Most unlikely a wheel bearing, could be driving style. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

If you've got non-standard wheel / tyre sizes fitted, it could well be the steering angle sensor needs recalibrating to give an offset to compensate for the different than expected rotational speeds. I fitted 255/55R20's to mine, I found a 6 degree offset cured the traction control kicking in on corners & roundabouts.
