Water pooling on door sill in between door seals |
|
Gday Ladies and gents, and merry belated Christmas!
I have already an idea on how to tackle diagnosis of this, but maybe one you had this issue already and sorted it out, so there might be a shortcut for me to get rid of this issue right away:
There is water pooling on the driver (left, mine is LHD) door sill in between the door seals, especially when the car is parked slightly off camber to the passender side. Luckily, the inner seal is holding up and not letting it in until I open the door. But the outer seal looks good to me, so is the sealing surface on the body.
Any idea what to look for?
Thanks,
Christian

If it only occurs when it rains, then the outer door sealing is faulty, or not adjusted properly.

Found a little bit of debris, looked like soot, where the outer seal meets the body, right behind the door catch. Gave everything, incl. the rubber rain gutter a thorough clean. After some mild rain the last night no more water on the sill, though I parked it as off camber as possible on purpose.
Fingers crossed.
