Steering angle sensor calibration - lights on dash

So, I recently replaced the front upper and lower arms due to knocking when driving over bumps. I then got the wheel alignment done and all ok. However, when I checked the steering wheel angle sensor reading, it was showing about 8deg delta from what I thought was straight on.. so I did reset and now the dash is all lit up with 3 Amber lights. Now, assume I got 2 options, go back to wheel alignment place and get tie rods adjusted or try to angle the steering back to where it was and resetting ? I should have just left it, but thought I was doing the right thing.......any advice appreciated. Its due an MOT in January and know it will fail unless I get it sorted.

What are you using to do the reset of the steering angle sensor? if its an IID take a look at the readings as you turn the wheel, as the ring might have worked loose

I was using my icarsoft tool to check. I lined up the steering wheel and reset. It's now reading 0 and changes angle in accordance with how I rotate it. So I know its getting a reading. I just wonder if It needs some additional input or calibration. Seems a bit odd to me.
