"Check battery and fuel" error |
|
This morning was a bit chilly... Turned on the ignition in my D4 and got an error message which read something like "Check battery and fuel level" - all in connection with the FBH.
Plenty of fuel, and no problem with the battery.
Thoughts, anyone?

why do you think no problem with battery?
it might have degraded that its state of capacity is crap although it might show OK voltage ...
can you read DTCs?

My FBH doesn't like volts below 12.4 -
I changed battery earlier this year to prevent this being an issue this winter, but it hasn't improved the situation. .

I've seen quite a few FBH with low voltage errors due to either a corroded fuse or high resistance in the wiring, the first one can sometimes be only cured with a new fuse temporarily if the contacts in the BJB are corroded also. A first time fix is to run a new supply from the battery terminal via a 10A in line fuse directly to the FBH connector.
