Re Replacement key case.

So I ordered a replacement key case with a blank blade. So I could swap my working key in to it. Ordered it from amazon. The key blade does not fit because the diameter of the hole in my blade is 0.5mm smaller than the plastic support/ pivot point( for want of a better description) on the new case. Has anyone actually ordered one recently that actually fitted without having to file down the new key case. Not sure if I am posting in the right section so admin feel free to move if wrong. Thanks in advance

Have you tried fitting just the blade, by pushing out the roll pins? Bit fiddly without the proper tool, pin not usually tight.

I replaced the cases of my 2 key fobs last year. Although the cases came with key blades, what I found was that I was able to fit my existing key blades together with the chrome part that they fit into, into the new cases. As I understand it there are differences between the different replacement cases that you can buy. However, I would suggest you try if my approach would work for the replacement case you have purchased.

I’ve literally just done this last week.
The replacement keys are very slightly different where the blade fit on the button.
I found that to make it work it was a case of removing the roll pin and putting the original blade into the the place of the new uncut blade. ( hope that makes sense)

When I ordered mine I had to file down the blades for them to fit. I was a little concerned about doing that initially but to be honest it was easy and worked a treat.

Thanks for all the great responses. Thanks Bubblehead I had wondered if I could swap the blade out of that chrome part. Wasn't sure how it was fixed so thanks for that.
