| Fault Code P115A-68 (2D) Low fuel level - forced limited pow |

Just managed to return from late shopping with D3 surging home the last 3 kms's.
Gap shows 2 faults:
P115A-68 (2D) Low fuel level - forced limited power - Algorithm based failure - event information
P115B-68 (2D) Low fuel level - forced engine shutdown - Algorithm based failure - event information
fuel guage shows around 150km's left
Can anyone enlighten me as to the problem please?

Well all seems to be sorted, my initial interpretation of the IID seems to be correct, that when the fuel gauge shows empty it triggers a sensor to tell the ECU to force limited power or force shutdown.
In this case I had 130 km's allegedly still in hand so there must have been a hiccup somewhere.
I have now filled the tank, better off for the experience/knowledge.

IIRC the forced shutdown happens if either fuel level sensor drops below the set threshold (presumably to prevent the fuel pump running dry on hills etc.) If you are still showing a decent range available then one of the sensors may have failed or come adrift. Can you read the actual output of the sensors? that may help whel the fuel level is getting low again to determine if & which sensor is the issue.

Thanks for the reply, when I checked the live values this afternoon after the problem was solved both sensors were between 2 to 3 volts. Now that you have alerted me that I will read it again tomorrow and note the results.
