Suspension fault…

Evening all! I’ve had a read through the post on suspension issues but seem to have a different presentation to other, No doubt I’ve missed a post or two with the same Laughing . Have got a intermittent fault appearing that seems to be becoming More regular Crying or Very sad

Normal height only on the dash with suspension light, doesn’t drop at all, no issues in ride quality and seems to drive as normal. Compressor kicks in when engine started runs for a bit then stops. As above sometimes can raise/lower suspension no issue then other times it’ll come on instantly?

I’d have thought if it was a leaking tank - It’d run all the time? If compressor was faulty it wouldn’t run or would run constantly (it has also had a new compressor in the last 12/18 months, just trying to find the paper work to see what it had done as before my ownership)

Update - found paper work for the work it had done. Seems a few years have passed by without me realising Shocked Laughing Compressor was fitted 5 years ago - part number LR072537. Going by what I can find it’s a hitachi? Is it worth the rebuild or replacement?

Any pointers much appreciated Thumbs Up

before you try replace the compressor try blowing out the exhaust line from the compressor, if this blocks it can cause an issue as the pressure in the compressor gets a fault reading, just needs blowing out with an airline

Managed to get the cover off today, found an AMK fitted, spoke to the Original owner who confirmed my finding and software update was done at the time.

Spray the tank to see if I can find / hear a leak, nothing found. Compressor is running for about 2 mins every time the car is started then stops. Goes up and down without fail if some as the car is started but then light comes on.

Anyone give any ideas? Cheers

Ah sounds like you might have the same problem I had

It sounds like it needs the software upgrading again, it’s called a ecu flash. I had to do it 3 times because it kept having a hissy fit ( originally a hatachi compressor upgraded to amk) it would work fine for a week or so then have same issues like yours. It’s now been fine for 6 months with no issues. You can do this with a gap IID tool if you have one

Would find it strange that it’s worked fine for 5 years but maybe the ecu has reset for some reason Confused

I would try a rebuild as that bought me another year with my old compressor before it finally died

Update… got a kit from air seals and fitted it today, all good for 10 mins driving then bing, light back on and normal height only message Big Cry

Compressor sounds much better than it did before which is great but obviously somethings wrong. When starting the car now we’re back to the light coming on immediately. Have checked the tank and can’t see or find a leak there.

Anyone able to give any more pointers? Am I’m needing a new compressor Big Cry

I changed the HITACHI temperature sensors to the AMK compressor. Now the AMK compressor is 100% electrically compatible without a software update.
