Replacing seals in front air valve block
Just a quick one. I’m replacing all the seals, o’rings in front air valve block today. So in reference to cleaning etc what would you recommend, spray wise to clean block and lube new o’rings. I was thinking a silicon spray? Thanks.

I used a light coating of silicon grease found in the plumbing section of my local hardware store. Others advise no lubricant as it may attract desiccant dust resulting in future leaks earlier than otherwise.2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8

Thanks all. Well took it apart and replaced every seal, cleaned it up and put it back on. Guess what🤬 it’s worse now! Both sides drop now within minutes. So I must have done something wrong somewhere. Help!!!

Maybe you dropped one of the tiny seals.
Although that tends to blow the connector off.
Suggest you order new seals from eBay if you didn’t.

Cheers. Yep all the seals were from EBay, front middle and rear. I reckon I either missed replacing a seal or left one out. Anyway I’ll take it off again tomorrow and go through the procedure a little slower! Possibly one of the external air connectors didn’t seat correctly. Thanks.

Replace it. I looked and rebuilt mine a few times and it didn't make much difference. Used to drop over 3 to 5days. A new one was like WTF...... it works

😂😂 I agree. I’ve actually been online this evening looking at a new one. Plug and play👍. Just out of interest did you go OEM or aftermarket?

The problem most people forget to do when changing "O" rings are the small pistons that get stuck and dont move. They need removing and cleaning so that they will go up and down, otherwise very little will happen.

Hi mate
Hope ur well and good to hear the push fits are coming in handy
Done the same in replacing all 3 x valve blocks after trying to rebuild mine , used a vacuum hand pump and they all failed to seal 100%
Think those push fits really came into there own when refitting the awkward rear valve block

Not wishing to teach u how to suck eggs but just plse ensure the plastic pipes don’t have any scoring on them and cut squarely , then using some soapy water after
Must confess when I bought mine the suspension had been really neglected , so I separated the system into sections and using a combination of pressure / vacuum pumps , soapy water , gauges I tested each line / struts / valve blocks , tank etc to ensure they were 100% sound
Hope that also helps

Hi and good to hear from you. Well I’ve just finished removing the block again. This time I checked and all seals ok. However I think I didn’t pull back the Voss connector collars when first refitting. So this time pulled back locking nut to reveal the collar. Twisted collar no tears, reseated the pipe work and tightened locking 12mm nuts down, collars seemed to fit better this time. Just come in for a coffee so will check later to see if holding 👍
