Roadside tyre repair - AirMan ResQ Plus Kit ?

My partner had a smallish puncture in one tyre on her way home on Saturday evening.

Her car doesn't have a spare wheel but has a puncture repair kit comprising a pump, squeeze bottle of sealant etc... as might be expected the Censored kit didn't work. The tow truck driver who collected the car commented that he had never seen such a kit work, nor have I.

In the end new tyres were fitted yesterday, the delay being caused by the weekend & Bank holiday on Monday.

The tyre fitter commented that the only kit he knew that worked is the AirMan ResQ Kit, and suggested that I buy this:-

Has anyone any experience of this kit please, or maybe something else which actually works?

We've had cars in the family with these kits instead of a spare tyre. All well and good for a small hole, or a nail, but useless if the side wall get a rip, or the wheel is damaged.

We had a VW touran, took it to France on holiday. Got a buckled wheel, where a latex kit is obviously no use. Ended up buying a new wheel and tyre in France at great expense.

I don't think there is any substitute for a spare wheel, if there is somewhere to put it. As it happens, the touran didn't have a spare wheel well.

Used these core type plugs a couple of times now and carry a 12v tyre inflator. Work great and both repairs held as long as the tyres did.

Sadly I don't think that SWMBO could cope with core plugs etc..

She certainly couldn't jack the Disco or lift its spare wheel. Hence using a smaller car herself - an Audi.

I think Holts Tyre Weld & Emergency Puncture Repair and/or AirMan ResQ Emergency Tyre Repair Kit, are probably the answer.

I've already put 2 x Holts Tyre Weld in her car and will probably add an AirMan ResQ Emergency Tyre Repair Kit as she really is worth saving Thumbs Up Whistle

Hi NJSS

not experienced the AirMan ResQ Kit, But I like that it’s water soluble to enable the tyre to be repaired

I have used foam canisters before. They are amazing but I believe not so friendly when you get the tyre replaced.

I've been using the sticky string repair kit for about 7 years. The kit I have has 2 thicknesses of the sticky strings so depending on the size of puncture you choose the most suitable one.
Literally used it about 5 days ago and it took about 3 minutes because it was the front tyre, just turned steering to full lock and pushed car until I saw the screw in the tyre.
Removed screw and used the thin plug and hey presto.
Used it many times over the years and none failed.
