Another for over 600 on my D3 manual on a regular basis. Drove back from Wembley to Foggie (620 miles) and the car was still saying I had 20 miles left.. was crossing my fingers on the last bit though I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

And that was after 80 miles.
So, D3 more frugal than D4, that's Progress for you prob the manual box.
Mind you, there were a few short trips thrown in on my test, I'm sure I could get 550+ but passengers would be rather bored at 50mph.

I did 2 virtually identical North Cape trips, one in the D3 and one in the D4, logging the mpg. Both cars returned identical mpg, down to 0.1mpg difference. On the D3 right up to the moment the engine spat its dummy out and she drover her last.

Even with different drivers, the D3 / D4 MPG was similar over ~2000 mile round trips, about a third of it on 'non-metalled roads' - or no road at all.

D3 had a larger useable tank than D4. & yes, the 95 miles was from the same tankful.

No, my daughter did. But with hindsight it might have been safer if I'd taken it Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
