Hi galwaygreen,

Empty, the vehicle is 2,536 Kg. Fully-loaded is 'not easily' stated because one can overload it quickly, if one is not careful. That having been said, with all of the added equipment including fuel and water, the vehicle sits right at or around its recommended maximum weight of 3,762 Kg. The ARB Heavy-Load Coil Springs are, however, designed to comfortably hold another 600 Kg of weight. Strangely enough, the vehicle doesn't "feel" heavy. It is well balanced... Purchase with confidence. Thanks~!

Fabulous build and great document! GLWTS Thumbs Up

I do like the dashboard cover. Anyone know who makes them. Found some cheap ones on Ali Express but nothing like the quality one in this lovely overlander.

Hi Green Land Rover,

That is the "Original Suedemat Custom Dash Cover" made by CoverCraft and was $49.99 (USD). You can customer order one to your specific year, make and model (including sub-model) by visiting their website here:

https://www.covercraft.com/us/en/product/s...-cover.DMS

I hope that was of some help?

Part #2

Hi Green Land Rover,

When I installed my dash mat, I threw-out the crappy few strips of velcro they provided and used an industrial strength, wide-body, black velcro. First, I carefully laid the fuzzy side onto ever portion of the dash where I believe it needed to be, using entire strips across the length of the dash and not little pieces. I then placed the abrasive side of the velcro onto the areas of the bottom of the dash mat, where the two pieces would intersect. You will want to begin at the FRONT of the dash (ie. the part closest to the steering wheel) to line everything up and then work your way BACK (ie. toward the glass of the windshield) as you lay it down. When you get to the very last part, it will help you tremendously to use a rubber spatula to properly tuck the edges down into that tight area. I don't know if those suggestions sound anal-retentive, but I wish someone had told me that before I started as it would have saved me a great deal of time and energy as these specific custom mats are quite well made and cut specifically match to your vehicle. Anyway, Good Luck~!

ARB High-Intensity Spot and Broad-Beam Lights

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your consideration in the purchase of this pretty amazing overlander. I wanted to let you know that I got the "ARB High-Intensity Spot and Broad-Beam Lights" back from the ARB dealer and re-installed them. Originally, I thought there was a defect in the lights as I saw some water vapor trapped inside. But ARB told the dealer, once I sent the lights back, that there is a polycarbonate cover which protects the lights from rocks, pebbles, stones, bugs and dust, etc. It can be removed by hand, cleaned as needed, and then snapped back-on. Even the ARB dealer did not know this!

Anyway, the vehicle has gathered just a little dust since the photo shoot, but you can now see the lights have been re-mounted and are fully-functional, wired and ready to use with the carling switch on the bottom of the center console. Honestly, they are CRAZY BRIGHT. I will have to take some photos this evening of the "regular Zenon lights", then the "stock high-beams", then these ARB High-Intensity Spot and Broad-Beam Lights which I call your "Second Sun". Thanks~

P.S. - I also removed all my stickers off the Front Runner wind fairing.

Nightime Photos

It's really hard to get an idea as to how powerful these overhead ARB Intensity lights actually are, but I hope these iPhone pictures give you some understanding of their benefit. There is NO light coming back into the vehicle and it feels like "daylight" in-front of you:

1.) Stock Zenon Lights
2.) Stock Zenon Lights + Stock Bright Lights
3.) Stock Zenon Lights + Stock Bright Lights + ARB High Intensity Lights

P.S. - These lights may (obviously) only be used in off-road conditions with no vehicles in-front of you.

My apologies... I did not receive any notifications of new posts, and I have not been back to visit this site in a little while.

We recently took a 10-day expedition into Albania and drove some amazing mountain passes, two river beds, secluded areas, several cities and beaches. In all honesty, the vehicle performed far better than I anticipated it would. There was one point where I thought to myself, "If I drive into that silt and sand, I'm just going to get stuck and bogged down." The LR3 just went through like it was no big deal. Hard to fathom where its limits are sometimes.

The more trips I take with it, the more I want to scale it back (just a little) a fine-tune it to the point where - I really might not want to sell it. The vehicle is simply amazing.
