Recalibrate gearbox

Not sure if this is the right expression for what I want to do but I get the feeling the gear changes are not right so I was wondering if and how you can calibrate the box to change to e certain gear at either a defined speed or revs using IID.
Any clues. I have the IID BT version for my car
thanks

No you can't change the shift points.
maybe try sports mode, or change the oil. At least 7 litres worth

Thanks. I havez done 40K miles and was assuming the oil would be OK since it is meant to be 'sealed for life'. I will see if the problem becomes clearer and I get DTCs and then proceed from there with an oil change probably

No ability to set the shift points yourself, but you can reset the Transmission Adaptations, which will force the TCM to relearn the shift points. User beware, here’s a thread with some tribal info:

According to Land Rover the gearboxes are sealed for life but ZF recommend oil services every 70-80k
You need to check the oil level with the engine up to temperature and running, remove the filler plug on the side of the gearbox and oil should just trickle out.
What are your tyres like? If you have big differences in tyre tread depths front to rear this will confuse the traction control and it will hold onto gears.
Also a failing oil temperature sensor on the engine will cause the gearbox to hold lower gears, you normally get a rough idle when the sensor is failing.

Put your VIN into the online Lane Rover service portal.

My gearbox is NOT sealed for life and indeed has already had its transmission fluid changed (around 60k iirc) I’m at 89k now and another transmission change is called for in a couple of years. I’m a 2014.

Yet my brothers 2010 has no requirement for transmission oil changes.

The gearbox is the same in both cars (ZF8).

It’s each to their own of course…..but anything with moving parts that requires oil is never sealed for life in my book.

Try resetting the adaptions on the throttle as well as the gearbox.

I think 2010 D4 is the 6 speed gearbox?

you would think so wouldn't you!

His is the same as my 2014 and on a 60 plate! Must have been one of the very first!
