I am new to it all also but bought a Bailey Pageant in April
It is 4 berth and has a fixed bed to the rear, I dragged it across to the Classic Land Rover Gathering weekend just gone, me and the youngest had a right laugh 240 mile commute and the D3 returned 25 mpg
I was never a tin tent fan but am sold now and love! Cornwall in 6 weeks land_rover_owner_cheshire

We’ll be in Perranporth for a month in September, we’re going to brave putting the full awning up this year rather than the air porch and leaving the bed made up.
Looks a lovely van, full size fridge freezer too by the look of it, if it’s island bed as well it’s Ideal.
Enjoy.Steve

Very happy with the tin tent , and it’s good that it’s clean in and out and not even a old mug or plate left in side , every one we looked at was full of there crappy pots and pans etc that we didn’t want as it’s nice to have your own in it
Few jobs to sort on her , 4 new tyres , 2 windows have a crack on the internal side , and sort a good connection for solar panel .
I have an interesting story about picking it up I’ll put on a separate post -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

Looks good Stew. We have been tin tenting for 20 plus years and love it. We have also have a large twin axle but it is surprising how little time you actually spend in it. We tend to cook and sit outside most of the time and even in poor weather we are often in the awning or under the gazeboMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

We nearly gave up with caravaning a couple of years ago, I was so fed up with the bed making faff. We thought we'd have one more go, and bought a fixed bed Swift Charisma 555. Best thing ever! No more bed assembling, a real mattress and only one of the kids comes with us now, so he's ok on the front seat without changing anything.

This van is single axle, and the bathroom is beside the fixed bed, rather than across the back.Richard

Hi,
We have fancied an L lounge a few times but in 59 years it's still never happened
Still not a fixed bed fan although the rear double you can make up was good
Maybe do a Hitch service, does it need a Hitch damper? And a brake service, then get someone in to do a Gas Safe check
