Grinding noise.
Right then.
Wife's D4, 2011 3.0tdv6.
Griding and vibration, wife's been complaining for a short time, but knowing the front disks need replacing (wharped) I haven't really given it a thought.
Drove it last weekend and the grinding sounds like metal on metal brake pads, so pulled over and tried to have a look. Could see any think so decided to turn round and head home, did the 3 point turn thing, and started to drive away, big bang that shook the truck, like a brake pad making a bid for freedom. And the grinding posisted. Anyway, this weekend I've had the wheels off to check the brakes, it is not the brakes, albeit I have ordered disks, carrier's, pads and wear sensors for all four corners. It's not the EPB or the front wheel bearings, these were changed only a few thousand miles ago. And there is no movement in them, jacked up or on the ground.
Does anyone have any idea what this could possibly be.2006 D3 aka Lipstick (bad purchase) my daily.

Hi DN and Trainmanone,
Thank you for your replies, I was kindda thinking down this line of thought, Trainmanone that is the best description of the sound, hence i suspected slipped pads, after experiencing this in the past on older disked vehicles.
Time to price these too, and watch a couple of YouTube tutorials.2006 D3 aka Lipstick (bad purchase) my daily.
