most expensive fill up

Paid £94 today for a tank of fuel!
3 yrs ago a full tank was only around £65
The £100 tankfull is not too far away!
[in fact it could have been today, If I let it run down a little more.]
And, I've now only half a tank left, so there'll be another tankfull tomorrow.

The Chancellor must be loving it!
think of all the tax he's getting out of just me?

Dearest so far for me is £97. I was running on fumes almost. Doing my usual, eyeing up all the auld grannies in the forecourt and not paying attention to the pump. I went inside "pump 2" inserted my switch card and up it popped' Censored me, I looked round to see if someone had started filling up their car on my pump between me hanging the nozzle and getting to the cash desk... Rolling with laughter Shocked

Watch out in Shell garages where you may pick up a V power diesel nozzle where there used to be a normal diesel pump. Mrs DSL almost filled up with the stuff when she noticed that this was a very pricey garage. Luckily I have her well trained! Mr. Green Mr. Green

Did this the other day at the Shell garage on the Edinburgh city bypass (Dreghorn). They have pumps with 2 nozzles only - one diesel and one petrol dispenser - I picked the pump on the correct side for the filler cap and when I had parked, got the filler cap off and then picked up the nozzle I found that it was V-Power Diesel. The other V-Power places I have been have 3 with regular diesel as well available. 115p/L ! I reckoned that the alternatives of a. Petrol or b. the humiliation of admitting I wasn't paying attention and moving the car to a different pump weren't worth the 7p/l difference (I think it was £5 in the end). So now I look. I like the V-Power but not worth it for Mway driving.

Having said that , when I set off along the bypass towards the A1 I was getting 47mpg! Very Happy All the way to Kinnaird park. Until I came back into the very strong wind and it dropped back to 31 Sad

$1.50/l here. (up 7 cents in 24 hours.) Must be Easter Holidays coming up. I have not looked at the calender, just noticed skyrocketing fuel prices. Rolling Eyes

It's all a big con, Tax on fuel runs at about 200% at the moment, 40p to refine and position it, the other 80p goes to Darling and his New Labour Old Censored cronies.
