Recommendations for recon 306DT engine supply and fit in UK |
|
Hi all!
I’ve bought a 2014 HSE 3.0 Diesel Discovery 4 and I need a replacement 306DT engine. It’s seized so I suspect crank failure. Only done 67k 😆! Anyway it’s very tidy otherwise and is going to be our new family wagon! So looking for a recon engine supply and fit recommendations? Can anyone recommend anyone? Thanks in advance!

Welcome Lomaximus - sorry to read of your problems.
It will take some time, but I suggest you read the many recommendations for Oval Autos here.
They will rebuild your engine, and are very well thought of:-

and
https://www.ovalautos.com/
Good luck; keep us informed.

I am not sure that I entirely agree with this, which comes from another forum:-

There are a lot of "dead end" threads on the forum recently.
Maybe these threads should be deleted after a time as they are just clutter.
I do think though that common courtesy might at least evoke an acknowledgement by now.

I, of course asked the Butler to respond - but clearly he didn't - he no longer works for me.
My sincerest apologies

No problem Nigel It’s the newbies that come here asking advice, and then never respond, that annoy me the most D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. OP LR recon with warranty is going to be 5.5k so if you have a good independent nearby you need a quote to fit but take into account it probably prudent to change turbos as well. LR main dealer will likely be 13.5 to 15K all done.
Or as others have said Oval Autos have a good reputation.
Not a job for the inexperienced and cheap end of the scale to take on in my opinion.
