FBH.
Noticed I have one on my car and they supposed to activate at a particular set temperature.
I have the GS car so no fancy panel so no timer so question.
Is their anyway I can manually activate it like a remote I had once on a Range Rover?
Thanks.

Sorry chap.. yes, there is a remote that you can use like your Range Rover.
You'll need an ECU to be told that it has the remote unit fitted, and you'll need to get yourself a remote control box, aerial and fob.
That's the LR option. It fits inside the rear offside of the rear wing onto a loom that's sitting waiting. The panel for the box is there too.
Another option is to fit an aftermarket control unit that speaks straight to the FBh under the bonnet and uses it's own SIM card for connectivity via the phone network.
There are at least two SIM type options , so the choice is yours. One is a Russian based firm, so will need some research before following that route.
For info. I have the LR remote option, and my own BTII access for my Control unit, so was able to tell the car that the LR module was fitted. It's a simple fit.. but may take some knowledge to get the FBh working if it's 'locked'.
Hope that points you a little further in the right direction.
If you're still unsure. Post a note.
The LR kits are still around, and usually go for about £150. Depends whether you want your life in your phone, or happy to have a separate remote really.
Start with that decision, then go forward. It pretty much boils down to that.
If you just want to be able to preset a time for.the heater the night before.. that just involves a plugin to tell the car it has the option fitted.
Your D4 should fire the FBH up by itself when temps. Are low, and it's needed to get the engine up to temp. Quicker than just driving/running. This feature Is controlled by the ECu and you have no access to this in a standard fit car.2011 MY D4 HSE
