Gearbox help
Hi there, I have a recurring gearbox fault. Usually I don't get any codes but this time I got this code. Does anyone recognise it and has had the same issue. Thanks

That just tells you there's a fault but nothing about what exactly is wrong. What are the symptoms if any and what diagnostics are you using?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Gearbox fault
I am using my iid bt. The fault is a hesitation to change 5th to 6th then a loss of drive. Usually with a pre warning of a reluctant feeling of power, as if it is in too high a gear.Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂

Has the transmission ever been serviced, and what mileage is on the car now?
80k is the absolute max on these before service and ideally at 60k.
If the service has been done recently it might be an issue with the oil level or perhaps debris in a solenoid.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I thought these boxes were sealed for life and never needed servicing?

Sealed for life, according to JLR
ZF, the gearbox manufacturer, state between 50-75k miles, less if you do lots of off roading or towingMy D3 Build Thread

Box
The box is well serviced. When it started playing up I thought it may have been due to the worn bush and pressure problem so I took it to a auto box refurbisher. He tested the box and told me that the wear parameters were ok amd within spec so he didnt consider that it would be that as the problem. So electronic maybe? Which is why I was wondering if anyone recognised the code from their own experiance.
This time is the first time I have been able to find a code on the iid. The other times it happened there was nothing to find at all.Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂

That code is from the engine management system. Are there any codes stored within the gearbox? My D3 Build Thread

codes
I cannot find any codes in the gearbox. When it happened yesterday I was stopped on the hard shoulder so I cleared all the faults to get running again. The only one I saw gearbox related was the one I have shared.
Previously I have had plenty of time to search and I didn't find anything at allDiscovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂
