Ok.......interresting.
This means I have to further investigate the main bearings before I really reassemble the engine.
I changed the old one against new ones in original size. But if the crankshaft has been changed, something big must have happend with this engine in the past.
Any idea how I could check the old bearings if they are in original size or oversized?
A couple of months ago I found some issues at the camshaft bearings.....my guess is that this issues came from the same "incident". So the heads and cams seem to be the original ones.
I already changed the injectors last year, and I used the "older" style ones for the original 2006MY. I think 2009 was there as well some kind of change.
How can I identify if the block is the original one? I could ony find the number on lefthand intake manifold, but no stamped engine number.
thanks
Roland

If undersize, it is stamped on them..
Never seen undersize without size markings on them..Best regards

Yeah as above they should be stamped. The engine number is a different issue though, typically LR decided to stamp the block in the most difficult place they could possibly find.
Behind cyl's no 6 and no 3 Although it is also stamped on the intake manifolds but the block location makes it very difficult to compare.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

as said earlyer, If undersize, it is stamped on them..
BUT standard are NOT always stamped with STD..
A B C markings though CAN (not always ARE) be size code's within a certain size
so
STD can have 3 subsizes
1e undersize can have 3 subsizes
etc..Best regards

Thanks.... I think they are standard size as you say.....but would like to investigate it a little bit more.
they have a green coating...... any idea which brand it is? couldnt find any with green coating online.
and couldn't find any Ford-bearings with that numbers.
Someone on here has done a rebuild using Ford bearings and included colour info if I recall. Have a search..

Thanks
it seems that my bearings are federal mogul according to this thread
And they are tapped.
But the numbers are different to the list in this thread. and the pictures in this thread
and I cant find anything online about productnumbers of federal mogul
I will measure the material thickness of an old bearing and an new bearing...lets see, maybe this helps

Yes yours look to be original Ford FM shells and I'm assuming they're std. Breg90 (Adrian) has done exhaustive work in determining the suitability of the Ford F150 (3.0 ltr) bearings, and has concluded after very diligent investigations that they will fit the 2.7 TDV6! (albeit with minor machining for the anti rotation tabs)
The questions for you now are (1) what crank do you have fitted? It would appear from the M16 pulley bolt it's a later 09> 2.7 TDV6 crank? (or perhaps a newer short engine?) And, (2) if you wanted to go Breg90's F150 route would those bearings also fit your crank?
Might be worth sending Adrian a PM and get his informed opinion as he may not have seen this post already.
I don't find dimensions for the original OEM bearings and not for the installed.
But King has dimensions for there STD sized bearings.
King STD wallthickness 2,504mm
King +0,5mm wallthickness 2,756mm
My measurement showed an average of
2,502mm wallthickness at the installed bearings
and 2,495mm wallthickness at the new FAI bearings
this means 0,007mm more gap with the FAI bearings.
