Have the exact same issue after a windscreen replacement from National Windscreens - driving down Autoroute in France a loud pop and driver side trim half hanging off. Repaired with gaffa tape for rest of journey.
After some googling, seems that the plastic clips holding the trim on need to be replaced each time. I've just ordered some online so will see how it goes!

Yes I had the same also....
The clips all break and sometimes the locating pins/lugs also.... I got new clips and it now stays but really the side trims (and the lower valance) all break on removal unless done with EXTREME care.
They are very brittle to be fair but they do like to rip them off in a hurry.A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.

thanks for all the info, the "new" trim is still not sitting on the glass correctly and the rubber sits to the side of the glass. you can push it down and it pops back up.

Playing around trying to sort mine out, I think the trim needs to be slid down slightly. This locks it onto the bolts and positions it better.

As it was still rattling, seems the top and bottom locating pins on the trim itself have snapped off. So only fix seems to be to buy new trims
