Rechargeable torch
Thought I’d share my install of the JLR rechargeable torch. It was pretty straightforward in the end. I used the (cheaper) Jaguar kit, so first of all had to remove the torch dock from the piece of trim supplied to fit the Jag boot. I cut a hole in the side panel in the loadspace of my Discovery 4 with a coping saw, neatened it up with a file, then attached the torch dock and a new piece of sound deadening. For connecting up, I was keen to use the rear air con connectors as these are unused in my MY2016 car. With some advice from Martin @ futuranet, I was able to get an ignition controlled neg and ground from the air con connectors. Martin also supplied the terminals I needed to make use of the unused connectors present in the car. An in-line fuse was installed using a holder from 12V Planet. The batteries supplied in the torch really didn’t seem to last long, so I sourced new 1.5v rechargeable batteries with tabs, plus SPOX connector from RS online and soldered up a new battery pack. All now working well, charging quickly and holding good charge. So now very pleased. Pictures attached. I have a spare Jag torch kit, and could put in the parts section if anyone is interested in buying it and installing.
Kind regards, Peter

That's a very neat job, looks great and thanks for sharing.
I have to say that I think seeing Jaguar on the side would slightly annoy me. You could I suppose add a pipe holder and slipper rack to match. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Very nice neat job, well done! I fitted a Nebo torch in the centre console, but it doesn't look as neat, version 2 should look better!Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey
