Awning without roofrack
Has anyone fitted an awning without having a roofrack fitted? I would like one, but don't want to have to buy a roofrack to fit it.

If you have rood rails, then yes it could be done easily with channel nuts in the rails and the bracket mounted to them.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

Hi,
I fitted a 2.1M across the back of our FL2, as said ^ used the rail mounting points and made a couple of brackets, then mounted the rail to the brackets

If you do it without the rack, make sure you use one of the awning designs with props/poles at the free end. If you use a cantilever awning from the roof rails the roof is going to get knackered the first time it’s set up.2008 LR3 HSE, 4.4L V8
