I recently bought a very well looked after 2008 D3 SE auto for my daughter for her post A Level grand tour (she didn't want a Toyota!). The car was immaculate with a 160k on the clock and great service history. I paid £5600 for it.
It's a great car, is leagues ahead in practicality compared to my Defender and I love driving it, but it's still nearly 15 years old. I will kit it our for her but I've taken the view that its a disposable vehicle specific for her trips when it will be 16 years old. If I get something back when she's finished, great but if not, ce la vie.
GLWTS and if you want to sell the tow bar, then I'm interested. D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

its a nice looking car with not a lot to do to it, i think it suits the black wheels so much better . RR sport alloys are such a killer to a disco

Thanks for all the ‘glws’…and other opinions. All gratefully received and appreciated.
Tbh, what im now planning to do is get the leak diagnosed and then fix / sell with more info re the fix needed / scrap.
I love my cars…and im proud of the ones ive sold. I spend too much on them but its not about profit / getting my money back - i enjoy the ownership and investing in them to make them ‘better’ so i’ll continue in the ‘mode’ and go from there.
Speak soon hopefully…

Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.
