Left mirror mind of its own and lost range

Hi All. I have come to a huge loggerhead with my disco 3 2007/56 2.7TDV6.

Out of all the problems I have fixed this one is a nightmare. Left /passenger / N/S mirror is almost pointing to far OUT. At first
I thought possibly it’s the motor in The mirror that’s it’s making it point out. Luckily smashed that mirror off whilst green laning and picked up a another via eBay. This one is exactly the same. Your can’t adjust the mirror inwards enough to see your blind spot and smidge of the side of the vehicle. It’s such a weird one as it’s done this fault on both mirrors. If you go a bit lower
And hard in (adjuster to the right) it almost bounces off a limiter and cannot get it to point in enough.

It also has a mind of its own and will regularly
Change its position or its reverse position.

Thank you any ideas greatly recieved.

I find it best to turn off the reverse dip.

Probably a fault mirror
Or the memory seat module, under the seat

Yes I will probably do that. Doesn’t explain why both LH mirrors point substantially outwards away from the car though. I had wondered whether there was a module that may point the glass further out than it should but wasn’t sure which module and how to diagnose?

Nope, the glass mirror physically doesn’t turn in enough to see down the side of the car. The last Mirror enclosure and glass did exactly the same
