why doesnt my car like the cold |
|
I mean to be fair no-one much likes a brutal Canadian winter, but my LR3 really doesn't like it when the temp drops below -5 oC
When I go to start it up, I get the dash light up like a Christmas tree. Looks like ABS lights and engine faults, special modes off and I cant raise/lower the suspension.
I read the fault codes and pretty much everything was throwing errors from transfer case to headlights.
I did hear that the speed sensor might be a culprit so I have cleaned those - but still have problems.
if he outside temp in the morning is above 0, then the car behaves perfectly normal with no lights or errors
Any ideas on what might be causing this temp related issue? Thanks

not just your weather, our as well, now read a thread regards the steering angle sensor shroud, thought same issues and you and I on start up, had a look under steering column whilst turning my wheel, sure enough, same issues, did the quick repair and had the steering sensors recalibrated and hey ho, not had issues since

Sounds like a common (and known) battery issue.
Check battery connector clamps, often they do not tighten even though the nut is fully tightened.
Second one, check for parasite battery drain - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0
