High miler tdv6 S Disco 3
Not my first foray into green oval ownership but is only my second and after some gap as I got side tracked by Isuzu. Unfortunately my pickup which was much newer had to go due to a change in financial circumstances which as lead me back to landy ownership.
First land rover was my first car at 19 a couple of years after passing my test. It's a 1972 2.25 diesel series 3 swb station wagon that I daily drove for 3 years till I decided to restore it and while I still own it I haven't really gotten very far with it at all but I view it as a longer term project.
Any way onto my new acquisition. Its a 54 plate disco 3 with 203400 miles on the clock and I paid £3300 for it. It dose have a full service history. The body is in shockingly bad condition with peeling paint and a few dents. Though this I'm not to worried about because of the uses I'll be putting it to. In typical land rover fashion it tried to break down last night on the way home the passenger side front air suspension collapsed accompanied by a burning smell on the cabin, though the compressor seems fine so I'm assuming it was the heater blower causing that issue. It has a few electrical issues, a flashing light on the center console for the parking sensors and a message displayed on the dash saying the front parking sensors don't work. The dash also says the bonnet is open when it's definitely shut and there is a few central locking problems.
Any comments advice criticism etc is most welcome.

my only concern would be those dents at the back which look like car was rear ended pretty hard but might be mistaken
did you check chassis rails were not damaged and harmonic weights still move freely
and it is still running nice which contradicts all BS about LR reliability
also looks pretty clear it has new windscreen mounted / glued way too low but if not leaking no concern i guess

No but first on the list to check tomorrow had a good look over the chassis and all seemed well though.
Hmmm interesting about the windscreen it's got quite a big chip in it anyway so may need replaced eventually again.

Looks like a bit of a project. What are your plans?
Mileage isn't too bad. 2/3rds of mine.
Fort William?

Just keep up with the regular maintenance and a few mods here and there to keep it interesting and you’ll be fine.
I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Congrats on your project. The balding on the roof is pretty normal for cairns blue.. there have been some threads on that subject on this forum in the past. It’s (in my opinion) the best looking color. Mine is going bald on the bonnet.
The bonnet is open thing should be fixable, use search, ditto for front parking sensors. They can be disabled, of course, if they’re not useful to you.

That looks alright, a bit of a project but a good clean and polish and maybe some glue pulling will transform it. Wet vac the seats and they should come up really well.
Good luck with it.

I did think that, apart from the number plate and the dent in the rear quarter she coudda past as my bus. Mine has the same invisible paint patches, figured it was just mine.
Not on my things to do list
Mechanical's first, cosmetics.......... well......... As long as it runs
