Altox app

Whilst not strictly a FBH issue, I figured this the best place to post. Mods please move it if I'm wrong.

I'm currently in France and the Altox app on my android phone has stopped showing tracking info.

I can get current position by texting it AND nothing on the SIM or Altox should be different than 18 months ago when the web based app worked.

So I think it's the app on android.

Giffgaff have checked and report SIM is ok and data/text/calls are all properly set to roam.

Both giffgaff AND Altox have suggested power-cycling it, but that could be a pain if it entails unplugging it from it's modified home in the car ... could take hours!

Could someone PM me likely fuses that are feeding it? And maybe what else those fuses feed?

TIA
 .

Hope you're not laughing at me Iggy !

Update 1.

Giffgaff sent instructions to fix it. Followed them to the letter and looks like the SIM is now bricked. Big Cry

Update 2.

Fuse identified thanks to Martin Bow down so will try and go to the car tomorrow and force a reset.

Pulled fuse, left it 5 minutes, refitted fuse ... no change.

Have to wait until I'm back in the UK now 😪

ok ... not fully "decoded" what happened yet BUT about an hour out of Nantes on the return trip, my phone was sent into meltdown by txts received from the Altox.

My guess is that GiffGaff's "roaming partner" switched and forced a reset at that point. I'll check all the Altox settings soon - now that I can via txt - as I suspect some of those are wrong ( or not optimised ) and report back here in case it can help anyone else.

Smile
