2005 v8 question

I am not doing many miles ztm. Would it be ok to use super unleaded E5 rather than normal E10 unleaded? 8 belive its the jaguar v8.

Yeah that’s my thought for winter motoring.

Ethonal quite expensive atm Laughing , so I think super is about 10p more

Also thinking the actual cost might not that bad as you get less mpg on e10

The difference is not very much in practice. Around 1% in favor of 98E5 than 95E10. At least here the price for the former is significantly higher than the cost of the expected difference.

I'm seeing quite a drop on mine on e10 in the cold weather to be honest. Never seen such a drop before on any vehicle so can only assume it is the e10 switch
 05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system
12 RRS SDV6 HSE (Hers) - Gone and replaced with an I Pace - I can tell you now EV is not the future yet

Best reduction in consumption, that I’ve ever seen, occurred when I figured out that 1. my thermostat leaked (so engine constantly cold), 2. a caliper was stuck AND 3. brake shoes were Censored. Laughing

Took average consumption of 23 L/100 km to figure that out Shocked Rolling Eyes

Thermostat good, Calipers good. Hand brake shoes maybe and issue I guess - rebuild plannd this week

Its two vehicles I've seen the drop in during the cold weather though

I find e10 gives better performance (shell vpower ) no noticeable difference in mpg. Kml.
 1996 Defender -died (now in landrover heaven😇)chassis to ashes , rust to dust !
2004 Defender td5 gone
2012 Evoque gone

But shell V Power isn't E10 its E5 .....
