handbrake cable retainer spring issue
I have an issue with the handbrake retainer springs on the D3. NO Matter what I do, I cant get them to sit with the spring in the groove and seat properly in the holder in the shoe. The pic below is the only way I can get them to sit so that the spring on the cable goes neatly into the bracket on the shoe. Is this ok?

Another view but you can see it will go round the end of the cable and nowhere near the groove on the flap.

I think I have solved it - some idiot who has been in here before (not me ) has bent the springs from how they should be
Top spring is 'rebent', bottom is the other side as it came off the car.
I should replace them but these are the only things I didnt buy!! And I want to get the car off the ramp tonight - always feels a bit precarious with the wheels off hung there.
Its a common thing, they are quite soft material for what they do.

Thanks Flack.
I think i bent them back into shape enough to have some reasonable spring action on that flap.
Next issue that was bothering me when I came in was that i stupidly tugged on the left hand cable as I was putting the spring back on and felt something move in the actuator. Hopefully I have just pulled the rod to one side slightly through the motor and it will reset itself as it applies the handbrake when I have set it all back up?!
