[For Sale] 2006 (56) D3 HSE IN JARVA BLACK - NEW PRICE
Please note more will be added once I sought out the history file, but in essence bought from a forum member in August, sight unseen but photos seen at the time reflected a somewhat different condition, so I will be honest down to the last scratch!

I’ve quite often wondered whether having some of the rear brake backplates corroded / cut away, results in MOT failure. I suppose as long as the parts of it that support the parking brake components are reasonably sound, it may be ok, as in this case………Some cars do not even have backplates behind the discs, as designed from new. This might buy a bit of time for some of us with older D3’s ( mine aren’t quite that shot away yet, and I certainly don’t want to be pulling the rear wheel bearings out before their demise). D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

I'm surprised Del hasn't jumped in yet but it's certainly worth more than the asking price in parts alone !I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

If you post this on the Facebook groups it will go in no time at that price. As mentioned you'd get significantly more if you strip it for parts, but that's not always an option.

Sorry to hear your troubles.
I’m selling our better condition 2007 Silver D3 HSE as it has a seized engine.
A suitably mechanically minded person could maybe put this engine into ours.
I wont link my ad so as not to hijack your thread but maybe it would shift them both, I’d much rather ours went to good use rather than being scrapped.
Ripped off by fellow Forum member ......name and shame them .....
I would have hoped that the person concerned would offer to reverse the transaction & buy back the vehicle.

sadly the guy cannot be found....at present, but the vehicle is well known to a inde LR garage who are based in the north west who also have decided not to assist in tracking this former member down despite possibly knowing where he might be ands also being on this site

Mud shields not required for mot, the actual brake backing plate that the epb shoes mount to is a lot thicker, so as long as the meaty bit is still man enough for the epb shoes then you can cut off the rotten tin mud shield and the car is still serviceable and safe to use.
