United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 S Auto Alaska WhiteDiscovery 3
[For Sale] 2006 (56) D3 HSE IN JARVA BLACK - NEW PRICE

Please note more will be added once I sought out the history file, but in essence bought from a forum member in August, sight unseen but photos seen at the time reflected a somewhat different condition, so I will be honest down to the last scratch!

REGISTERED 07/09/2006
HSE - auto 7 SEATER IN JARVA BLACK WITH BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR
CURRENTLY ON A SORN HAVING RUN OUT OF MOT 22/12/21 BUT CAN BE DRIVEN AROUND OUR YARD
MILEAGE ONLY 4 MILES MORE THAN WHEN I BOUGHT IT AT 215883

WHAT YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF
1) The bodywork I would describe as "poor" with numerous scratches/minor dents and have taken photos where appropriate
2) The rear stone guards do not exist as they have corroded away
3) All brake discs and pads will need replacing
4) Front brake callipers will need to be replace
5) The vehicle has an air suspension leak and sits flat after a few days of no use. Will rise but sits with the osf lower and the rear higher than the front.
6) You will need to replace the OS lower sill/or patch it as its corroded where the previously fitted side steps corroded
7)OSF CV boot needs replacing (previous MOT advisory)
8)The FBH does not work
9)Tear to the drivers seat base (common)
10)OSF Front fog light glass broken
11) Need to replace one or more of rear PDC or whole loom
12)All four wheels need refurb/repaint but tyres good

*** GEARBOX - First fine, drive up through 2nd to third, not good, above that OK'ish but in essence needs the gearbox replaced or reconditioned*****

I AM SELLING THIS FOR LESS THAN I BOUGHT IT FOR IN GOOD FAITH AND AS I SAY, WILL ADD MORE INFO/PICS, CAN ARRANGE DELIVERY BY TRANSPORTER/TRAILER AT YOUR COST
[
**********PRICE OFFERS ABOVE £1250 WITH ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED*************

I’ve quite often wondered whether having some of the rear brake backplates corroded / cut away, results in MOT failure. I suppose as long as the parts of it that support the parking brake components are reasonably sound, it may be ok, as in this case………Some cars do not even have backplates behind the discs, as designed from new. This might buy a bit of time for some of us with older D3’s ( mine aren’t quite that shot away yet, and I certainly don’t want to be pulling the rear wheel bearings out before their demise). Laughing
D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

I'm surprised Del hasn't jumped in yet but it's certainly worth more than the asking price in parts alone !

If you post this on the Facebook groups it will go in no time at that price. As mentioned you'd get significantly more if you strip it for parts, but that's not always an option.

Sorry it didn't work out for you and good luck.

Sorry to hear your troubles.

I’m selling our better condition 2007 Silver D3 HSE as it has a seized engine.
A suitably mechanically minded person could maybe put this engine into ours.

I wont link my ad so as not to hijack your thread but maybe it would shift them both, I’d much rather ours went to good use rather than being scrapped.

I would have hoped that the person concerned would offer to reverse the transaction & buy back the vehicle.

Mud shields not required for mot, the actual brake backing plate that the epb shoes mount to is a lot thicker, so as long as the meaty bit is still man enough for the epb shoes then you can cut off the rotten tin mud shield and the car is still serviceable and safe to use.
