Where to get a new key Fob that will work
I have the BBS Faultmate extreme 2 - I recently coded a new key (a cheapo ebay special!) to my car.
It works in that it will start the car, but the lock/unlock buttons don't work.
Reading around here and elsewhere it appears a bit hit and miss which of these pattern fobs from China will work 100% and which won't.
Has anyone had any success recently and can post a link to their source please?

I use imi fob housing and key from reputable LR part sellers, like advanced factors or island4x4 and let the key maker, copy the key, after that i reuse the OEM LR key electronics, IN the imi fob housing…
Never a problem Best regards

Thanks - I sort of have the opposite issue - I destroyed the original electronics when I opened the casing of my spare key so I can't reuse that board, I have the original key blade which I can use.
Edit - just realised my title's misleading, isn't it? I will see if I can change it.
Further edit - changed the title from "blade" to "fob"
So far tried 2 "eBay special" key fobs - one will code using my faultmate, so it will start and run the car, but it won't operate the remote locking.
The other won't code at all using the faultmate.
I know from time to time people have reported success on here using those aftermarket key fobs so was hoping someone with recent (or indeed any) success could let me know what they used.
The original is at the bottom, 2 ebay ones (they are different circuit layouts) are above.

You tried 2 cheap copies, that don't work
You want to try another cheap copy
Any reason why you won't just get a new key from the dealer? Its the correct part, you know it will work, so why around with cheap copies? My D3 Build Thread

As far as I know they’re the right frequency.
As to why I am mucking about?
I try to do stuff on the car because I like doing it.
I bought the Faultmate second hand off here and so far the cost of the Faultmate and the keys are still less than the stealer price for a new key.
There are various posts of people on here and elsewhere that claim this is possible - I suppose you shouldn’t believe everything you read online.
