Yea as a few of the guys here mentioned it was the steering sensor angle being out of whack (50-60 degrees out). Not sure if its a common occurrence for it to drift like this but it is a 16 year old car I guess .
The icarSoft LR 3.0 sorted the issue, it can do some basic calibration functions and sorted this particular issue out for me. Effectively spending £170 on the tool vs not much less on our local dealer to so the same was money well spent for me.
Thanks for everyone for their advice and suggestions. This can now be marked as SOLVED!
