So,
12v to one of the switch cables
0 ohm resistance to earth on other switch cable
When switch pressed 12v cable drops to 0v
Any ideas.

Taken plug off the upper tailgate actuator and found 6.5v continuous feed on the plug ?

Think im coming to the conclusion that my CJB is the fault, unless anybody has any other ideas which would be appreciated.
To conclude
12v to switch from CJB that drops to 0v when the tailgate switch is activated ( proves cable to switch and cable to earth is good).
Supply Cable from CJB to actuator is good (actuator will open tailgate when both unlock and lock buttons are pressed on the dash together)
It seems the CJB isn't seeing the 12v drop to 0v when tailgate switch is pressed so it won't sent the 12v down to the actuator to unlock.
Am I talking rubbish above?
Only puzzling thing I've come across is the permanent 6.5v on the actuator plug when disconnected from the actuator, wonder if this is because it doesn't have any load on it (actuator disconnected)??.

Wondering if anybody has the panels off their tailgate at the moment and could measure the voltage on their upper tailgate actuator plug when disconnected from the actuator please, I have 6.5v on my plug permanently.

Started to do a wiring bypass today to bypass CJB as I was convinced FET had failed.
Found this corroded wire in the loom from the tailgate switch and number plate lamps.
When checking resistance down the cables with the tailgate handle removed all was ok.
When tailgate handle was re fitted to the car the cable showed open circuit.
Cable must have been moving slightly when tailgate handle was fitted back to the car.
It was just where the cables come out of the protective sleeve.

Corrosion hadn't even tracked along the cable, chopped bad bit out (2mm) stripped, soldered and used heatshrink over it.

Hi Leon,
think I may have the same fault with my D3, is this pic of yours the top tailgate when the switch/number plate light holder is removed
Tailgate switch was intermittent, so removed the "paddle" inside and just pressed the microswitch and all worked fine, until a couple of days ago tailgate switch not working now
buttons on dash still release tailgate,
cut micro switch off thinking new switch required and have 6.5V (did read 9V briefly!) constant on 1 wire, bridged wires expecting actuator to operate but nothing
decided to use the "search" button and found your post possible broken wire from switch
any help welcome Transit! 2019
