CO2 adjustment not working on Thermo Test Software

Hi group,

I need your help on the following matter: These days I started working on fixing my webasto for my discovery 3, 2006. It was starting but turning off by itself in 30 sec. Thanks to this forum I managed to clean it, diagnose it and make it run. It has the 02h error. Blow on it and made it run. Still if I don't blow on it, it will stop.

So I tried the sugested aproach to increase the CO2 setting from Calibration => CO2 adjustment. Still, when the adjustment window opens I get the following error:

CO2 adjustment is not possible! The heating unit is not within the necessary operating state or adjustment value out of the valid range.

I have no other option but to close this window.
I used:
- Thermo Test software installer v2.14
- Thermo Test software installer v2.16.1
- Thermo Test software installer v3.4
Same error on all. VCDS pin configuration: 4, 7, 16. I think now that I never tried using pin 5 as ground instead of 4.

Do you have any suggestions for me?

As I see I have 2 options:
- increase the setting as you all did - but need your help to pass the error.
- mount a 12V fan to continuously blow into the air inlet.

As an update, today I mounted an 12V air pump used for inflatable mattress. I had one bought since last summer and I found it useless. Not it meets its purpose Smile. Btw, it costs @15£ => https://jysk.ro/gradina/saltele-gonflabile...o-12v-220v

It works perfectly (until everything will get on fire Very Happy )

In meantime. I still look for a solution to pass that error window and increase CO2 level. any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

Yes, I left it run for more than 10 mins. In fact I tried multiple times (with it running, with it being off, etc.)

Hi,

I tried again today, with my improvised fan blowing and I left it run for about 10 mins. After that I was able to enter and edit the CO2 setting. Of course, while still running in "Parking Heater" mode.

I modified the value to something close to the maximum (last value before the maximum) and since then I tried 2 time without any blower help and seems to work perfectly.

Many thanks for your help!
Ionut

I have a suggestion totally unrelated to CO2. Check the burning timer counter. If it has reached 800 hours, the burner throws the 02 fault code and refuses to run. The remedy is to reset the timer by reprogramming the memory cells that contain the counter value.

Apparently there is a block in the software when the burn counter reaches 800 hours which is universal. I had this problem with my daugther's Volvo. But I see on the internet that this pertains many other brands where a Webasto is fitted, including LR.
