I can't argue with your logic, but the the Duratracs seem a bit of fun and they look great.
However that said I don't want to go to far, can handle a bit of handling and noise but I don't really want to go down the road of height lifts etc (more for reliability). So if they don't fit without mods they will have to be swapped for a smaller size.
I had the Pirelli's, they were a great tyre. They also do an AT version which looks nice but massive wait on them apparently.

I spoke to a local independent today, who said to ring a company they knew of who dealt with tyres. Said company weren't able to give me an answer and told me to contact a main dealer.... So I'm really completely unsure as to what I should do. In all honesty I think I probably need to completely rule out the higher profile tyres on the 20" LR wheels and look for some 19" instead. It's just frustrating that the ride wasn't as rough on the same wheels pre suspension arm replacement.
Out of interest does anyone remember years ago the Goodyear wranglers used to have an issue where there compound went hard? Has anybody ever come across this with any other brands in more recent times?

They are a great tyre. I got 4 on a great deal through Kwik Fit a couple of years back for less than £600!
They are a bit noisier and ‘chopped’ a bit on full lock as though it was falling off individual tread blocks. But I’d put them on my new one when the time comes.

I'm still torn what to do on this, I've located some reasonable 19" wheels with the standard 255 50 19 tyres on them. The thing is I don't know whether to spend the money on these, or just bite the bullet and have all of these non-genuine wishbones taken off and replaced with genuine. I'm 99.9% sure the ride was never this bad before having those swapped last July.

I’m running 275/55/20s !
I’m as surprised as you !
Apparently using the GAP IID tool he put another 15mm on the suspension.
So far no rubbing issues and a magic carpet ride

I have GG AT3's 255/55/20 on my D4. They just clear the spats below the front bumper on full lock and I'm running standard height. The ride is smooth.
One issue is the spare, I have a new matching spare which has to be virtually fully deflated to squeeze in and I carry a compressor. I would be concerned that you wouldn't get a 60 profile tyre in at all, even deflated.Stu

I run the equivalent size on the 19 alloy. 255/65 R19, same size as the new defender.
You have to have a “word” with the chassis horns in the front wells and have a “chat” with the pinch welds in the rear wells.

I have located a set of 5 standard 19" wheels, so I'm considering buying those. I may also look to have the front lower arms swapped for genuine parts to see if that makes a difference. Alternatively I may keep my wheels and change the tyres to 255 55 20, though not sure if that may be just as bad as a 60 profile with regards to rubbing etc.

Opps.. got a D4 HSE, was running 19'', 255/50/19. Need new tyres. I bought a set of new/unused 20'' Defender (2021 ed) alloys, with 255, 60, 20'' they are rubbing bad on the inner chassis..
Advice please on my options,
a) correct tires (buy 255/50/20 (800 quid)), sell 255/60/20 as new (450-550 expected) - cost 250-350
b) lift kit rods, (£70),
c) cut back the protruding chassis arm, neighbour said he do it for 50 quid, but said it still a mighty big tire in the hole and wonders if it will foul the liners on big potholes...Discovery 4 HSE MY2010 Lugano Teal

Sorry to hear you're having problems with your new wheels! I decided to play it safe and found a decent set of 19" wheels with 255 55 19 tyres - a set of 5 too (spare unused), so I now have a full size spare.
Sadly in my case the ride still hasn't improved much, but something I have noticed is that it seems to come and go. What I mean by this is that for a few days it rides silky smooth, then on others it's back to crashing around again. I'm starting to wonder if I have some dodgy height sensors and that possibly the height is varying too much while driving - is this possible??
Hope you manage to get things sorted with your vehicle. I don't think I'd have wanted to go cutting my chassis! If you get stuck I do now have a set of 20" alloys with 255 50 20 that need a new home, though probably not local to you.
