Yes a very slippery slope indeed Wink Painter picked up the bumper etc today may have them back for the weekend fingers crossed. And I dug out my D4 heated steering wheel and fitted the original switch packs back in tonight so glad I didn't sell the originals it must be fate Smile .

I'd have to ask the boss where he sent them off to but had another in yesterday with the same fault 2012 hse this time. A bit late to the party for sure packed up and gone home now Laughing Well got the parts back from the painters and didn't take any pictures apologies for that I was going to pull the car in the workshop and fit the parts over the weekend but with the dash out you can't easily take it out of park and tow it so hopefully dash back next week and I'll do it after work... and the grill this one painted with a green surround

Looks good, but is it really worth changing the mirrors for something most aren’t really going to notice ?
You’ve still got the side repeaters in the wings as well as other tell tale signs as to the original spec.
If it were me, I’d just add a little silver flash on the mirrors (where the indicator section is on the later ones).

But then again I’m a Scottish North Yorkshireman……. you get nowt as tight as that. Laughing

ronp I get what you're saying but when they're painted and ready to fit what can I do Laughing Laughing

I'd been looking for the SDV6 door badges but at the ludicrous prices I've had to settle for landmark ones instead Rolling Eyes for the princely sum of £17 Very Happy

So I wasn't allowed to pull the car apart before Christmas so I though I'd get a head of the game and get the sat nav ready for fitting. Using a connects2 CTKLR10 fitting kit I took the screen replacement bezel to a friend with a laser cutter and got him to cut out the aperture making a really neat job of it in the process .

.

Not having any button head self tappers Rolling Eyes I decided to go with the glue gun and stick in the supporting frame connect to the original sat nav mount its solid enough and easy enough to remove should I want to remove it.

Should be a nice looking factory fit

I've also been looking into Garmin range of bluetooth reversing cameras which can be activated via the reversing lights. Looking forward to Monday when I can start my Double din and sat nav install
Merry Christmas everyone.

Well I've stalled a bit on the stereo install turns out the plug supplied with the fitting kit doesn't match the car loom so Im making a patch loom to make sure everything works so glad I didn't jump into cutting the dash up just yet. Anyway while it was all out I decided to change the interior trim panels to the wood effect once again I had all the bits, I also added the door car mood lights all in all it makes a big difference to the feel of the interior. oh and I fitted the mirrors but forgot to take some photos.
Have a Happy new year all.

Thanks for the feed back Gary it is indeed the 7in Nuvi don't hold your breath as this may take some time.

So plodded on this morning with a few more upgrades putting in a cubby fridge, illuminated sun visors and led interior bulbs think I'll have to do the sun visor ones as well just so it all ties in. Next job is to update the CCF files for the cruise control, front parking sensors fogs and powerfold mirrors as I've not yet registered the vin on my IID I'll wait until I'm back at work and use the autologicand connect it up to the bigger battery charger.

Cubby

Centre consul trim added

So been doing a bit more over the last few weeks changed the wheels yes they are 22in but with a 40 profile tyre I've had them sitting about for 18 months they were to be my summer wheels on the D3 but only had them on there for a few weeks so tyres were as new ride comfort is not impaired at all the only difference I can tell is that the car feels more planted on the road.

I'd also been doing some more work on the stereo upgrade I found the right connector for the loom but although the stereo works now I don't have steering wheel controls so I need to look at can bus feeds for this and hook them up to the connects2 loom.

I spent all of 10mins today replacing the rear tread plate makes the back end a bit smarter.

I also started to give the new callipers a good clean prior to painting maybe a tad excessive but you can never have to much brake no need for any drilled and grooved discs its not that fast
