New Altox App and FBH not working
Hi can someone please help, I have downloaded the new Altox app and followed all the instructions for setting it up.
I now have an issue with the FBH firing.
The manual climate control works in the car and fires the FBH lovely and warm.
When I use the app the interior fans come on but the FBH will not fire! The app shows its on but no flame detected in status the red light on the dash is not flashing like it does when I use manual climate control.
I have no faults in the app and no faults coming up when I use my iid tool.
It must be that the settings in the app as everything else is working.
The app reads codes on the heater and the Tracker tracks the cars movements.
Has anyone else had this problem or if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
Thanks............One life live it..........

Hi
This is interesting and seems a bit odd. I’ve just installed an Altox and it works brilliantly.
Do you have the correct heater type (W parameter) configured in the Altox? Perhaps it’s not sending the right “start” command to the Webasto? Mine is set as W1 which it auto discovered on the first launch - car is a 2010 D4 with Thermo Top V
Cheers,

I have changed the standard run time to 40mins, other than this
Everything is the same.
I did have to change this manually as W0 (auto detect) was found 1st.
Thanks Mark I suspect there is something corrupt in the Canbus............One life live it..........

Hmm that is odd then. Here are my settings for comparison
The reason that I was wondering about the "start" command is that the behaviour you mention (fans start but FBH doesn't fire) is what happens when I try to run the FBH from the Webasto diagnostics software.
I notice you have "E0" which I think means the number of allowable errors in the Webasto is 0 - I assume that the Altox diagnostics call is not showing any? (Once I had a low battery warning, code 84, and the FBH wouldn't start from the Altox until I cleared it, although it would from the Timed Climate/Manual Heat)
Looks like there is another heater type for V/VEVO (W2) - wonder if it's worth experimenting with this setting?

I have no errors in the system using the Altox to check for errors, I have also checked with IID tool and no errors.
I have reset the Altox to factory settings and re-done all the configuration again.
I have also found the Keyfob for the heater and reprogrammed it with a new battery, pulling fuse 2 in glove box.
The keyfob replicates what the Altox does ie. Fans on in cab area but will not start the FBH, the Altox is piggy backed onto the same connection in the rear drivers side of the car as the auto start. This is a genuine LandRover remote start system.
It's warmer today so I will wait till it gets colder and have another check of the system.
Land Rover tech's must sit there laughing at us as we try to figure out the systems when they fail.

Do you get any flashing lights on the Altox ? If so can you time the frequency and length of the flashes as that is a good indicator of any SIM errorsStolen - D4 Loire Blue

The Altox unit has an amber flashing light. It flashes twice quickly then a two second delay then two more flashes in quick succession this is continuous.
I can text the unit and the unit replies with a confirmation text. I have a Giffgaff sim fitted with credit on.

Do you use the app/website to communicate with the Altox as well? I find that much more convenient than the text message approach (and it cheaper as it doesn't cost me 10p per text off my GiffGaff balance every time I interrogate it)

Cool. Fingers crossed you can get it working.
I'll be following this with interest in case it suddenly happens to me!
