Michelin Pilot Sport SUV tyres

So have just switched to my Winter tyres and was shocked to see that after 2 summers or circa 13,000 miles our Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 Summers were worn out, thinking about going to Michelin Pilot Sports, any experience anyone pls, just wondering if they are worth the premium price?

I can’t comment on the SUV version, but PS’s are pretty soft and as such don’t wear very well.

I’d say that they’d be better suited to a more performance oriented SUV than a D3/4. 👍

They do really well in tyre tests. https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-4-SUV.htm

I'd be interested to know if anyone has firsthand experience of them on a Discovery 3 or 4. Key considerations for me are stopping distances and handling on the road.

If those are your key considerations they’ll be ideal. Thumbs Up

As LT says, they are a soft compound tyre, and in my opinion your Disco will roll a lot as the sidewall is not very stiff.

Expect rapid wear on the outer edge, although they will be quiet and have good grip until then.

If it's a pure road tyre you are looking for, it has to be Pirelli All Season for me.

I have them on my XC90. Great tyre but I'm replacing mine now at 20,000. I used to get 45,000 out of my AT3 and Duratracs.

As above, having had BMW's before the disco I rated Michelins as the best tyre so put them on my D4.

They are a great tyre on the disco but the weight of the car rolling eats the outer edges pretty quick.
