Webasto install from the other side of the pond

I have a discovery 2 td5 I would like to retrofit a
Disco 3 or4 webasto along with a 1533 timer to it this winter
Will the v or evo work stand alone with timer or
Do they require a proprietary signal from vehicle ECU or
Body control unit
We have none of these used in Canada
I would be buying from 🇬🇧 and would like to get
It right
I have already bought the dp42 pump and
Wiring plugs just not sure about heater
Thanks
Brett

Hi and welcome!

The Auxiliary FBH operation is managed via the D3/4 ATCM on the medium speed CAN. For that reason I do not believe it's possible to fit it to a D2.

I believe there was a webasto option for the d2.

Steve.

Hi and welcome!

It will fit…. TTV from a LR D3, does not need any connection to a CAN bus from the motor..
Basically 12v from the battery, connection to the aircon controlunit and relay connection to the blower and there you go…
You can control it with a W-bus 1533 indeed..

BUT there is a strange thing on LR TTV’s they will not work with webasto remote’s if used in other model vehicles…

Did this in my former D2 with a D3 TTV myself..
 Best regards
Harold

just buy a LR TTV from a D3..... if you want to be sure it works in a TD5

D4 is TT Evo or even vevo and tbh, no difference in output...

Webasto do some relabeling once in a while, some small software differences, mabe another cap shape but effectivelly they do the same.. some are CAN specific...

as said earlyer D3 ones you can use..

avoid TTC or otherbrand specific TT-V's or Evo's ( VW or BMW etc..) they don't work in another motor most of the time..

best is just buy a brand new universal one (TTV, TT evo, TT Vevo) from Webasto , works in every motor and with all remote's....

secondhand cheapies can be a risk..
 Best regards
