First time cold enough for FBH and not working? |
|
Morning all, so this morning was only 3 degrees and in my ownership this is the first time the FBH should come on. Unfortunate no noise or FBH exhaust smoke, was looking forward to that bit !! Are there basic checks I can perform, I have made sure I have a full tank of fuel. Thanks

If you have a GAP IID, there is a test procedure you can run which can kick it back into life.
If you don't, then removing the FBH fuse (under the bonnet) for 30 seconds is the done thing I understand to reset.
There is a massive section on the FBH in the Wiki (link at the top?)

Just clear the codes, then see how it goes.

Where exactly under the bonnet is this fuse and what number if in a box?

Thanks for the replies. Did a reset by removing fuse for 10mins. Fired up perfectly this morning in 0 degrees. 👍

Did you have the ignition on or off when fuse removed for 10 minutes? (I assume there is power to that fuse without ignition to allow remote starts)

No ignition off but I forgot to say I also disconnected both wiring blocks at the same time so no power at all.

Great news it’s going again. I fitted a remote to start mine on the colder mornings but still preheat it in the summer occasionally just to make sure it still works.

Yeah, I can turn it on whenever, it works off the third button on the key and runs for thirty minutes or until it reaches a set temp. The car is a 2007 model
I only use it occasionally during the summer to make sure it still works when it comes to winter. I do the same with my central heating.

On another note now that it’s working 😎 there seems to be a plethora of different ideas and products for FBH remote starting. However does anyone know of a simple timer set up that can be wired in with a small display wired through to the dash. Thanks.
